Vincenzo Nibali leads Astana in San Luis
It will be the 6th time when Astana’s leader starts his season in Argentina, Nibali being the winner of the race in 2010, back when he was riding for Liquigas.
“It will be my first race of the year and I want to do well. It will be the sixth time that I do this race and I have good memories, the most important my success in 2010.”, said Nibali.
Along with the Italian champion, the Astana Pro Team will be at the start with Michele Scarponi, Valerio Agnoli, Miguel Angel Lopez, Eros Capecchi, Bakhtiyar Kozhatayev, led by directeurs sportif Alexander Shefer and Paolo Slongo.
The race will begin next monday with a 21km team time trial. The fourth stage, with the climb to the High Del Amago (1710m), and especially the penultimate stage, with arrival on the fearsome climb up to 2140m at Filo Sierras Comechingones, will probably be decisive for the victory in the 2016 edition.
