Video: Chris Froome punches a Colombian fan in the face on Tour de France climb
A spectator got punched in the face by Chris Froome during the eighth stage of the Tour de France on Saturday. The man was wearing a Colombia national soccer team shirt along with a feathery yellow hat-type wig.
“I have absolutely nothing against the Colombian fans. I think they’re fantastic. They bring great (spirit) to the race. But this guy in particular was running right next to my handlebars. He had a flag that was flying out behind him and it was just getting dangerous so I pushed him away. I lashed out and pushed him away.”, said Froome after the stage.
