Tony Martin to join Bora-Hansgrohe in 2017

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Tony Martin will leave Etixx-QuickStep at the end of this season. The German, who is a three-time world champion in the individual time trial, will join Bora-Hansgrohe in 2017.

Peter Sagan will decide where he will ride in 2017 during the Tour de France and the World champion is expected to join the same team.

In 2017, Germany will host the Grand Départ of the Tour de France for the fourth time. The peloton will hit the roads in Düsseldorf, on the banks of the Rhine and in the heart of one of the most vibrant cities in the country, for what is an already highly anticipated 104th edition.

Hansgrohe, which makes bathroom fixtures and fittings, was announced as the new title sponsor for the Bora team last week, replacing Argon 18, which will also reportedly cease supplying the bikes, with Specialized poised to step in.

The American bike company is reportedly behind the deal to bring Sagan to the team, with Martin also riding Specialized bikes for most of his career with Quick-Step and previously the HTC team.
