Neben claims women’s individual time trial world title

American Amber Neben won her second world time trial title at the UCI Road World Championships in Doha, claiming the rainbow bands at the age of 41.

Neben, who first won TT gold in 2008, registered a time of 36:37. Just under 6 seconds behind her was Ellen Van Dijk of the Netherlands, followed by bronze medalist Katrin Garfoot of Australia.

It was the second gold medal for an American cyclist in Doha after Brandon McNulty won the junior men’s TT earlier.
