Boasson Hagen will lead Dimension Data in Amstel Gold Race

Edvald Boasson Hagen will lead Team Dimension Data in Amstel Gold Race tomorrow. The Norwegian will return in the saddle a week after finishing fifth in Paris-Roubaix. His best result in Amstel came in 2014 when he finished 39th.

His sports director, Jens Zemke, is happy that Edvald is racing again for the team:

“After Edvald raced his heart out at Paris-Roubaix, fighting for the win right into the Velodrome, we were happy that we could convince him to take the start of Amstel Gold.”

Boasson Hagen will have strong support from Nathan Haas and Serge Pauwels so Zemke is looking forward to a strong result this Sunday.

“He deserves our full support and are sure that he will be in the mix again. He has good memories from the region as he finished on the podium of the World Championships when Valkenburg hosted the event in 2012. With a strong team, we are ready to perform and promote our BicyclesChangeLives project at the Amstel Gold Race.”

An alternative option for Team Dimension Data will be Kristian Sbaragli who finished 20th last year for MTN and might prove a good rider to have should a large group be contesting the victory.

Team Dimension Data line-up for Amstel Gold Race: Edvald Boasson Hagen, Kristian Sbaragli, Serge Pauwels, Nathan Haas, Omar Fraile, Jaco Venter, Natnael Berhane and Youcef Reguigui.
