2018 Criterium du Dauphine takes place between Sunday 3rd and Sunday 10th June in the southeast of France, a fascinating race being a great indicator of form for the upcoming Tour de France.
With every WorldTour team in attendance the race is prestigious enough to be hard fought, but it’s the similarity to the Tour, and position in the racing calendar, that ensures it attracts a stellar field.
In recent years Chris Froome ( Team Sky ) has won the race three times prior to taking the maillot jaune in Paris, while Sir Bradley Wiggins similarly used wins at the Dauphine as a springboard for his two GC attempts at the Tour.
Defending Champion Jakob Fuglsang ( Astana ) has decided to skip the defence of his title opting to race the Tour de Suisse instead.
