Trek-Segafredo in talks with Contador and Degenkolb for 2017

Trek-Segafredo seems to be currently the most active team in the transfers market. Rumors had announced that the American team is in talks with two big names of cycling world, John Degenkolb (Giant-Alpecin) and Alberto Contador ( Tinkoff ).

Signatures can not be formalized before August 1st, day of the beginning of the transfer window, but  Trek-Segafredo managers will meet Alberto Contador next week to finalize the contract that would bring the Spaniard to their team for a year.

It is very likely that the double winner of the Tour de France will join their ranks for next season. Trek-Segafredo are also talking to John Degenkolb, who is currently at Giant-Alpecin, but its current formation refused to confirm an upcoming departure of their leader.

Rumours say that the Americans are already talking to Degenkolb about which riders they will bring in to help support him in the Classics. The German should fill the place left empty after Cancellara’s retirement at the final of 2016.
