Nicolas Roche rode Clasica San Sebastian with his new customised Pinarello Dogma featuring the Irish colours to mark his recent National Championships victory.
The Team Sky rider won both the Elite Time Trial and Road Race Championships in June and he has now received the customised bike to match his national champion’s jersey. The bike features a white paint job with green decals and the Irish tricolour on both the seat tube and forks.
Roche won the Road Race after breaking clear alone from a break which had been away for much of the race. Matt Brammeier (Dimension Data for Qhubeka) claimed the silver medal just ahead of Michael O’Loughlin (Team Wiggins). Three days earlier, Roche had won the Time-Trial Championships ahead of Eddie Dunbar (Axeon Hagens Berman) and Ryan Mullen (Cannondale Pro Cycling Team).
The top tube marks his two Elite Road Race Championships wins. In addition to his win this year, Roche also took the title back in 2009.
